Free Peoples and Dark Forces, the two armies fighting for Karadiyar.

Karadiyar is split between two great alliances. Your side determines which races you can play, which quests you see, which heroes support you, and which players are allies or enemies in PvP.


Free Peoples

Free Peoples

The Free Peoples (good side) unite Elves, Dwarves, and Humans against the darkness. Their quests, guards, mounts, and level titles reflect honour, defence, and fellowship.

Playable races

What changes on this side

  • Good-aligned heroes and city quests
  • Horses instead of wargs
  • Light-side guards such as Ioreth, Maerwen, and Fundin
  • Honourable level titles from Rookie up to Lord or Lady

Dark Forces

Dark Forces

The Dark Forces (evil side) follow Annamor's armies: brutal, cunning, and hungry for conquest. Orcs and Goblins dominate this path.

  • Evil-aligned heroes and darker quest wording
  • Wargs instead of horses
  • Dark guards such as Bolgoth, Gruk, and Khash
  • Fearsome level titles from Scum up to War Chief

Choosing a side

Side choice is permanent for a character. You cannot swap between Free Peoples and Dark Forces on the same adventurer.

If population balance is uneven, the larger side may be closed to new characters until the gap shrinks. Joining the smaller side can grant the Underdog Bonus at creation.
