How Heroes Work
Heroes are map units that grant side-based stat bonuses in their current city.

Heroes appear on the world map and can be opened from city details. They are not normal player characters, they are faction leaders and commanders with fixed identities.
The city where a hero stands can change over time, but for practical gameplay the key point is their side, race, and bonus profile.
Hero bonuses apply by side in the hero's current city. Multiple same-side heroes in one location can stack their bonus stats.
In war flow, selected heroes are moved to war location automatically and contribute to side strength there.
