Karadiyar chat has two channels in the same screen:
- Global channel for everyone
- Alliance channel for your alliance only
If you are not in an alliance, only global chat is available. Alliance chat uses a dedicated alliance room, so only your clan sees those messages.
Each message can show social identity metadata:
- alliance name tag near character name
- alliance role icons (overlord, captain, counselor)
- race and side-based visual coloring
Premium players can show profile frames in chat avatars. Frame visuals come from premium profile settings. See Premium Subscription.
@Mentions
You can tag another player in chat by typing @ followed by their character name.
- Start typing after @; after 2 characters, a suggestion list appears with matching active character names.
- Use arrow keys and Enter or Tab to pick a name, or tap a suggestion.
- Valid names use 3–16 lowercase letters and numbers (for example `@narniel`).
- Only names that match a real active character become a clickable @Name link in the message. Tap it to open that player's profile.
- Mentions work in both global and alliance chat.
When someone mentions you
If another player mentions your character name, that message is highlighted when it scrolls into view. The highlight fades after a few seconds. Once you have seen it, older mentions stay normal on reload so the chat does not keep flashing.
